*ABOUT SHARSTAR*
I’m an artist by day… a nurse by night… and free-spirit at all times :-) My art has always been a talent I have possessed but only recently begun to pursue. It has grown from a hobby to a passion, and now an obsession that I now hope to make a profession. It has become my main stress reliever and source of creative expression; both my escape from the world, as well as my means of leaving my mark on it.
It’s funny to reflect on it now, but I was that strange kid that would spend hours staring at the sky looking for different images in the clouds. All these years later not much has changed :-) I have always been fascinated with the beauty and majesty of heavens above and within (which I now see are actually one and the same :-) I find joy in the simple things in life - watching a sunset, listening to the birds sing, sucking on a mango seed, or sitting naked in the rain. Life is such a beautiful thing when we stop to enjoy EVERY moment! The more I embrace life and my talent, the more I get in tune with Spirit and the beauty all around us. My work is a constant reflection of all I sense on every level – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
My passion for nature, music, culture and my people are constant sources of inspiration, and everything I love is naturally reflected in all that I do. Each piece I create is a small extension of me – from my genuine joy and happiness to my bouts of confusion and depression. The colors of my palette are just a reflection of the emotions I feel on a daily basis. This spectrum ranges from the fiery red of suppressed anger, to the tranquil blue of peace of mind. There is such healing power in art therapy and creative expression.
